Meet the Founders

Assante & Bimonte Productions is a film and television production company founded by acclaimed actor and producer Armand Assante and partner Nick Bimonte, focused on developing elevated, character-driven stories with international reach. Drawing on decades of frontline experience in global filmmaking, the company is committed to bold narratives, disciplined craft, and projects led by performance, authorship, and cinematic ambition. Assante & Bimonte develop and produce work designed to endure—commercially viable, artistically rigorous, and culturally resonant.

Armand Assante is an actor known for his intense performances and commanding screen presence. A four time Golden Globe Nominee and Emmy Award-Winning Actor (Gotti 1996), Assante has received acclaim for his work for close to Five decades. Internationally, he has been the recipient of twelve Lifetime Achievement awards in the past ten years.

Of Italian and Irish descent, Assante trained at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and began his career with television appearances in the 1970s. He first gained significant recognition with roles in "Private Benjamin" (1980) and "The Lords of Flatbush" (1974). Assante’s rugged features and magnetic persona made him a natural for roles involving morally ambiguous characters and complex narratives, often portraying mobsters, antiheroes, or historical figures.

Assante achieved a career milestone with his Emmy-winning portrayal of notorious crime boss John Gotti in the HBO film "Gotti" (1996). This performance was widely acclaimed for its nuance and power, reinforcing his reputation as a compelling character actor. He went on to star in films like "Q&A" (1990), "1492: Conquest of Paradise" (1992), and "American Gangster" (2007), where his presence added gravitas. Assante also took on Shakespearean and classical roles in theater, showcasing his versatility and dedication to the craft. He built a career not on marquee blockbusters but on consistently strong performances across a range of genres.

Away from the limelight, Assante has a passion for literature, philosophy, and independent film, often supporting lesser-known projects and emerging filmmakers. His commitment to acting as an art form rather than a vehicle for fame has earned him a loyal following. Armand Assante’s legacy is that of a true artist—intense, thoughtful, and always fully immersed in his roles.
